Flaxseed oil for children

Recently Ziyi has started to like oatmilk more than her milk. When I was shopping for her oatmilk at BMS Organic shop, the shop assistant recommended me flaxseed oil for children. The kid's version is flavored with natural lemon. I ended up buying the package containing 1 tin of O'kid Oatmilk + 1 bottle of Flaxseed oil + 1 tumbler shaker.

I don't quite like the idea of Ziyi consuming too much sugar as the oatmilk is sweetened naturally, so I'm giving her oatmilk + flaxseed oil in the morning, dutch lady school  packet milk in the evening (snacks at daycare) and Anmum formula milk at night.

I did some research on flaxseed oil on the web. Adding Flaxseed oil to your child’s diet will:

· Enhance brain development.
· Increase learning.
· Increase reading shills.
· Enhance nerve development.
· Help prevent asthma.
· Reduce muscle inflammation.
· Reduce joint inflammation.

ADD/ADHD Child:
· Improve attention span.
· Increase calm behavior
· Enhance memory.

Boosting my immune system!

Dang! I've been down with cold pretty often ever since I had Ziyi. Pregnancy and parenting has taken its toll on my health! I realized I hardly fell sick before my pregnancy until I had Ziyi 3+ years ago.

What has caused my weaken immune system? Late nights and interrupted sleeps? I've become a light sleeper ever since this baby was born. My motherly instinct keeps me awake few times in the middle of the night to check on her, to see if she is warm enough, to check if she wets her bed, etc etc. Worse when she is ill.

I'm now having cough and blocked nose, which is causing my extreme headache too! Breathing through my mouth is making me burping all the time due to gassy stomach. Totally irritating. I'm going to stock up on immune system boosting supplements. I've read so much about Esberitox N and I'm going to give that a shot. 3 times a day, plus my Blackmores Vitamin C. It's high time to do something about it before the big move to migrate to Australia, I am pretty sure I will be even more prone to cold and cough with the crazy weather there.

As for Ziyi, she is supplemented with Seven Seas Multivitamin and Probiotics. That should work well with her.

Organic Oatmilk from BMS

We went to BMS near my house last Friday to get my mom her sugar-free oatmilk.  As usual, I was browsing for other stuffs and I spotted their organic 5 grain rice. I bought that to cook for Ziyi's weekend meals. She eats regular white rice in her school on weekdays, so I thought she should eat better quality food whenever I cook for her.

The friendly staff there let her try a glass of their children range of oatmilk too. It's slightly sweetened with corn syrup and oligosaccharide. Ziyi likes it very much and she asked for more. So she was given a 2nd glass, but this time is kid's unsweetened soymilk. Tasted just as good.

I bought her the O'Kid Oatmilk to try. The staff told me to switch her formula milk to this oatmilk but I don't quite like the idea of giving Ziyi sweetened drinks 3 times a day religiously. She's going to drink this on weekends only, as her snacks.

traditional cold and cough relief

i'm taking these supplements to help strengthen my immune system. Bio-Allisure from Bio Life and also Esberitox N. there are many types and brands of garlic pills over-the-counter.  apparently Bio-Allisure contains 100% Allicin powder produced by an enzymatic reaction of garlic amino acid, alliin, and garlic enzyme, allinase. Allicin contains special type of bond which giving allicin its remarkable antibiotic properties. In particular, the properties are to assist the immune system in a number of important ways, including stimulating cells, killing foreign bodies and detoxifying cancerous substances.

Esberitox N is a combination of plant extracts which has been clinically proven to boost and support the body's immune system and help reduce the symptoms of the common cold.  i tried giving it to ziyi, but she spit it out. i may have to crush it and add into her milk bottle.

probiotics

i brought ziyi to her paed for her follow up check up. she was prescribed with probiotics this time as she had 2 courses of antibiotics after falling sick in Australia last month. the paed gave her Prolactor Suspension (80ml) which cost me RM35.00!

i used to give her Biolife pre & probiotics but i think this is not the best probiotics around. i'm still hunting for a good probiotics for her and myself too. i've been falling sick pretty often lately.... age factor??? hhmmm....

i read about Prolactor from a few mummies blogs and apparently this is a very good brand but to me, this is too expensive. i think the 80ml bottle can only last her for about 2 weeks. that will definitely burn a hole in my pocket.
